Sarah Rowe is an interdisciplinary artist based in Omaha, Nebraska. Her work spans painting, installation, and performance influenced by Lakota ceremony. She holds a BA in Studio Art from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri. She is Lako-ta and an enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska.
Rowe was awarded a Harpo Foundation painting fellowship at Vermont Studio Center and residencies with the Great Plains Art Museum, Kimmel Harding Nel-son Center for the Arts, John Michael Kohler Arts Center ExAIR, the Union for Contemporary Art, Joslyn Castle, and Nalu Gallery Mexico. Her work is in the permanent collections of Bates Museum of Art, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, Great Plains Art Museum, Omaha Public Library, and Homestead National Park. Her work has been featured in exhibitions at Joslyn Art Museum, the Museum of Nebraska Art, Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Con-temporary Art, Sheldon Museum of Art, Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, and the National Willa Cather Center. She won best in printmaking at the 2021 Ne-braska Biennial and is the recipient of the 2025 Outstanding Artist award at the Nebraska State Arts Awards. She designed and executed award-winning Star-seeds, the tallest mural in Nebraska, spanning 15 grain silos.
Rowe serves as a committee member of Joslyn Art Museum, the Museum of Ne-braska Art and the Great Plains Art Museum. She is a board member of the Ne-braska Crossroads Music Festival and board chair of LALA, Local Artists Local Art.
