We are seeking sponsorship for the Gender Affirming Care Art Show, opening on March 31, 2026, at Omaha ForUs’s new location.

The Gender Affirming Care Art Show was born from a simple but powerful conversation. A friend and I were talking before seeing Wicked—a film steeped in themes of fear, moral panic, belonging, and resistance. In the context of today’s political attacks on gender-affirming care, she asked me a personal question around her taking HRT: “Is my taking hormone replacement therapy considered gender-affirming care?” My answer was immediate and wholehearted: yes.

That moment opened a deeper dialogue about what gender-affirming care is, who it serves, and how widely it is misunderstood. From that conversation, a collaborative art initiative emerged—bringing together transgender, cisgender, and allied artists to counter misinformation, center lived experience, and affirm the dignity and humanity of trans people through creative expression.

The show features work from transgender, nonbinary, two-spirit, and cisgender artists, and is co-curated by Eli2S Rigatuso and Lillie Knight, both of whom are transgender. Their pieces, alongside those of participating artists, offer deeply personal and powerful reflections on what gender-affirming care means in real lives—not as an abstract political talking point, but as health care, survival, and self-determination.

In addition to the physical exhibition, we are developing a companion website that will showcase the artists, feature video content, offer limited prints of selected works, and provide accessible resources about gender-affirming care grounded in evidence, medical consensus, and lived truth. One of our long-term goals is for the show to travel to additional art spaces throughout Omaha and other spaces in Nebraska, allowing people to engage with the work in ways that are accessible and meaningful to them.

Sponsorship support will directly fund:

Directly funds stipends for transgender, nonbinary, and two-spirit artists.

Community Space Sponsor – $2,500

Supports venue costs and ensures an accessible, welcoming event space.

Community Ally Sponsor – $1,000

Helps cover event logistics, hospitality, and insurance.
